So good is this EP that rarely a day goes by which I don't bemoan its absence on vinyl. Presumably rounding up a number of songs recorded in the album sessions but left off the record, this 6 track EP is an essential WP's purchase.
ReplyDeleteIf song popularity is judged by YouTube hits(and who's to say that's not the case these days?) then Just Like A Drummer is the most popular WP's song. And maybe it deserves to be, its a brilliantly catchy pop song with loads of great imagery. I can't say I have any clue at all what the song is actually about, but who cares when its as good as this? As for the other tunes, genius lies within. God Bless The Reverend Gary Davis and Dust Off Your Heart are stone-cold WP classics, the solo on Hotels And Motels will burn your face off and the high piano notes over the chorus of Time To Leave Town get me everytime.
If you're a WP fan who hasn't gone beyond the LPs then do yourself a favour and pick this up. You won't be disappointed.
