  1. A killer guitar line set up the first music released from The WP's ahead of their latest record. Again, odd choice for single? The song itself has long been available on the band's website in demo form and here it's sung by Jonny rather than David which may have been confusing to newcomers who heard this on the radio. Still, cracking tune, a live favourite, and one of interesting provenance as it was half-written by Stanley Brinks.

The b-side is where we uber-fans get our kicks and Stay This Way A Little While is a really catchy tune which could easily have made the album. As we found out later in the year it DID make the vinyl version which unfortunately makes this 7inch a bit redundant if you're coming late to the party. Again sung by Jonny, I find the recorded version has the energy of the live version's I'd previously heard but it lacks the backing vocals which I thought made it stand out. I can't remember clearly but perhaps David used to sing this live and Jonny did those back ups? Or maybe I just dreamed up the extra "Stay This Way A Little While"'s in the background. Intriguingly, the song mentions Huddersfield which means Tattersall was aiming this tune towards Jonny in the first place or, and if this is true I think we should be told, it's actually written by Jonny? Ahh, the murky world of Wave Pictures knowledge!
