Bass solo! Terrific second single from the Beer in the Breakers lp, Blue Harbour was actually one of the tunes which was vaguely familiar on the album as the WP's website has had a "Bandstand Busking" version on the media page for some time. (This brings up the subject of the tune, Stay Here and take Care of the Chickens, another busking song they have uploaded which has seemingly not been recorded yet, but is also ace.) Again, the b-side is a track which was on the extra Record Day 2cd of BITB - I Walked Past Them Sleeping. A nice little tune, it has some narrative similarity to Walk The Back Stairs Quiet, but perhaps with a slightly more sinister undertone. As i don't listen to the radio I cannot say how much airplay this single got and therefore how much attention is brought to the lp. It's a tough slog for underground bands to get any attention these days - in times gone by i can see this sat in the Top Ten of Peel's Festive 50 with a ton of indie kids around the country clutching their 12 inch with 3 extra tracks. Now we have to be grateful Moshi Moshi even press it into wax and we get one b-side. Ho hum. Still, no one will care in 20 years, just keep pumping them out boys, the world will catch up...
